DIARR-STOP B 0.25%
FEED–ADDITIVE PREMIX
CONTAINING VEGETAL EXTRACTS, IMPROVING DIGESTION,
FOR POULTRY

DESCRIPTION: The pre-requirement of protein digestion is production of proper volumes of hydrochloric acid and pancreatic juice in the stomach and the pancreas. If a feedingstuff with higher protein content is fed without transition, a severe diarrhea may occur that is based on troubles of protein digestion. In such a case the pepsin is not activated due to the hydrochloric acid shortage, therefore the protein digestion does not proceed properly. Because of the insufficient volume of hydrochloride acid, the saprogenic bacteria do not perish and they can start decomposition associated with gas formation of proteins already in the small intestine. Due to the insufficient formation of proteolytic enzymes of the pancreas the protein digestion in the small intestines deteriorates. As a consequence of all the above-mentioned, a huge amount of putrescent protein accumulates first in the small then also in the large intestine. The abnormal protein decomposition products continue to promote proliferation of the proteolytic bacteria. Toxic substances form and accumulate in the intestines and will be absorbed from there. As a result of irritating effect of the forming toxic substances, released ammonia and gaseous decomposition products, severe diarrhea originated from the small and large intestine may develop. The composition of the intestinal flora changes in the wrong direction, considerable proliferation of pathogenic bacteria can be expected.
As a result of their appetizing effect, volatile oils increase both feed consumption and gastric juice secretion. They have an explicit bactericide effect.
Due to its high tannic acid content the sweet chestnut extract inures the intestinal mucosa that that is beneficial at the time the diarrhea develops. The extract creates a protective layer on the intestinal mucosa and thus reduces the absorption of the harmful materials. If the diarrhea has already developed, less mucus is secreted in the intestinal cavity due to its impact on the mucous membrane. As a result of its slight bactericidal effect, it positively influences the composition of the intestinal flora.
